Campground & Pet Policies
Terms and Conditions:
Welcome to Dovetail Acres Campground. To help ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for you and your fellow campers, please follow the campground policies below:
REGISTRATION
- Check-in: 2 PM | Check-out: 11 AM

- No campsite setup after 10 PM.
- All visitors must register at the office inside Dovetail Trading Company (Citgo gas station).
- Office hours: 6 AM–7 PM daily (Fridays until 9 PM; Sundays until 5:30 PM).
- If arriving after office hours, please check the campground entrance mailbox for your welcome packet.

A two-night minimum stay is required for all reservations.

A three-night minimum stay is required for Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend, and Sister Bay Fall Fest Weekend.

Smoking is prohibited in public areas and the bath house. Please smoke only at your campsite and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
- Quiet hours: 10 PM–8 AM.
- Keep outdoor lighting minimal and turn off lights by 10 PM.

Burn only locally purchased firewood.

Keep fires small and fully extinguish them by 11 PM.

Gathering firewood is not permitted.

Surrounding areas are private property—please respect neighbors and do not collect firewood from nearby land.

Fireworks and firearms of any kind are strictly prohibited.

ATVs are not allowed.

Scooters, inline skates, rollerblades, skateboards, and hoverboards are not permitted.

Generators are not allowed.

WiFi is available; passwords will be provided at check-in.

Campsite occupancy is limited to one camping unit per site, with a maximum of four adults, or two adults with up to four minor children. Tent sites allow one large tent or two small two-person tents.

Garbage and recycling bags will be provided at check-in. Place bags at the end of your site in the morning only.

Do not leave trash out overnight. (Dumpsters are located on the east side of the campground.)

Cancellation Policy:
Dovetail Acres Campground cancelation policy includes:
- Reservations canceled 14 days ahead of time will receive a full deposit refund.
- Less than 14-day notice will result in the deposit being forfeited.
- Failure to cancel a reservation will result in the full amount of the reservation value being charged.
- No refunds for early or weather-related departures.
Dovetail Acres Campground Pet Policies
The pet policy at Dovetail Acres Campground is created with care and consideration. We’re happy to welcome friendly, well-behaved pets and their responsible owners to our designated pet area. Guests can enjoy a convenient on-site dog walk, and for extra exercise and playtime, we recommend visiting the nearby dog park in Sister Bay.
The Following Rules Apply to all Campers with Pets:
- Rule 1: No pets from the prohibited breeds listed below will be allowed. This includes mixed breeds and any dog that exhibits aggressive behavior. The park reserves the right to refuse entry to any pet or camper deemed unacceptable.
- Rule 2: Pets may not be left unattended at the campground, and excessive or disruptive barking is not permitted.
- Rule 3: ALL PETS MUST BE LEASHED. Pets are to be kept on a short leash at all times and are not allowed in public areas or the pet-free zone of the campground.
- Rule 4: Owners are responsible for picking up after their pet and disposing in the pet waste container.
- Rule 5: Owners must provide papers proving current vaccinations and shots are up to date. All pets must have tags that show this.
- Rule 6: Visitors to campsites are not allowed to bring pets of any kind.
- Rule 7: Children walking dogs must be old enough to control the pet.
- Rule 8: There is a $5 per night pet fee, and there are no more than two pets allowed per site.
- Rule 9: Pet owners are responsible for pet-related damage or injury caused.
- Rule 10: Any pet that exhibits aggressive or hostile behavior toward other pets or guests must leave immediately. There are no exceptions!
