What’s more relaxing than a movie in the comfort of your car? Originally owned by brothers Orville and Elton Voeks (they were also the first owners of the Lake Cinema indoor theatre in Baileys Harbor), the Skyway first opened its front gate on July 26th, 1950. Movies have lit up the screen every summer since then, making it the longest continuously running drive-in in Wisconsin. Kurtz Corral began as a small pony ring in Egg Harbor in 1960. Lloyd Kurtz, grandfather of the current owner Jimmy Kurtz, had originally been a dairy farmer but enjoyed “horsetrading” as a hobby and after accumulating several ponies decided to offer a small riding ring for Door County tourists. Looking to get out of the hot Wisconsin summer sun? Door County is home to numerous beaches within driving distance of Dovetail Acres, such as Sister Bay Beach, Ridges Beach, and Egg Harbor Beach. These beaches are a low-cost way of having fun with the family and many include amenities such as playgrounds and boat rentals! Our campground is within driving distance of numerous state parks in the Door County area such as Peninsula State Park, Newport State Park, Potawatomi State Park, Whitefish Dunes State Park, and Rock Island State Park (Ferry Required). The state parks include miles of beautiful and diverse trails, as well as multiple beaches, making them a perfect option for a family day trip!
